I lost several friends to the AIDS pandemic in the late 80s and was happy to find PCC when I moved to Charleston from Richmond. I started volunteering for PCC in 1993 and in 2004, was honored to become part of the staff at this vital nonprofit organization. My first career interest was Theater. I designed and painted scenery for many organizations, including the Richmond Ballet Theatre, Theater Three in New York and Spoleto here in Charleston. I still love live shows and music of any kind!

Jennifer Benvenuto

I have been with PCC for 17 years. I originally chose to work here because I enjoy educating and empowering people to enhance their quality of life. I am grateful to work with an incredible group of people whom I consider family. If the sun is out and I am not working, then I would likely be found at the beach or pool. I enjoy painting and refurbishing furniture, needlepoint, gardening, and crossword puzzles.I love to use humor and see people laugh. I am originally from Memphis, TN, but I made my home in Charleston over 20 years ago.

I chose to work at PCC I love being a part of something truly making a difference in the community. I actually love public speaking! The bigger the audience or stage, the better! I’m also an ordained Methodist Pastor (I took a leave of absence so that I could come work for PCC), so that might have something to do with it!

I have been with PCC for five years total. I chose to work for PCC to be able to help both clients who are living with HIV and those who may be at risk of contracting HIV. I am a fun, loving teddy bear that believes in living my life and providing grace to everyone. Travel and eating are my favorite hobbies

I have been working at PCC a little over a year now. I’ve wanted to get into the medical side of social work for a long time and when the opportunity presented itself, I could not pass it up. This organization provides tremendous support for clients from helping them navigate the diagnosis, to assisting them in living everyday healthy lives. A fun fact about me is I am really good at finding four leaf clovers! I found one while on horseback during a lesson!

I have been with PCC for two years. My favorite thing about working here is the relationships I get to build with my clients. It’s really amazing getting to watch some of them grow in their independence, confidence, and knowledge of their health over time. My husband and I have a Dalmatian named Dolly that we love! She is my running buddy and is just the sweetest dog.

My favorite part of working here is that everyone shares the same goal of connecting our clients with much needed resources. I am very passionate about helping and advocating for others with special needs and health issues as I have faced these challenges myself. I am a huge advocate for mental healthcare.

I choose PCC because of its strong focus on community health and support. My favorite part is making a tangible difference in people’s lives through personalized care. I’m passionate about public health and connecting with diverse cultures. I enjoy traveling the world and trying new food!

I have been with PCC for 2.5 years. Before this I was working at a vet but, I had grown very disillusioned with veterinary and wanted to still do something that helped people. I enjoy doing something that I feel really makes a difference, even if it is small.

I started as a volunteer with the agency six years ago. I have always been interested in the work that the agency does for the community so, being a part of that is why I enjoy working here. In my free time I enjoy fine dining and traveling around the US and abroad. I am also a cookie connoisseur

I chose to work for Truesdale Medical Center because I wanted to be a part of an organization that seeks to provide inclusive medical care to all individuals. My favorite thing about working for TMC is being able to connect with my patients and provide them a safe and supportive environment to meet their healthcare goals. I enjoy playing all types of games (feel free to ask what I’ve been playing recently), staying active, and spending time with my family, my husband, and my chocolate lab Nestle.
