Every September 4, health organizations around the world mark World Sexual Health Day, a global initiative from the World Association for Sexual Health. This year’s theme is Every Body — a reminder that sexual health, rights, and pleasure belong to everyone, no exceptions.
At Palmetto Community Care, that’s not a once-a-year slogan. It’s what we do every day for the Charleston community.
What “Every Body” Means to Us
World Sexual Health Day organizers put it well: sexual health isn’t just the absence of disease — it’s well-being, agency, and the freedom to make informed choices about your own body. That means:
- Access without judgment. Whoever you are, whoever you love, you deserve care that treats your sexual health as a normal part of your overall health.
- Care that fits your life. Sexual health needs change over time — and your services should be able to keep up, not make you jump through hoops.
- No cost barrier. Care that only reaches people who can afford it isn’t reaching everyone.
How We Put That Into Practice
Our At Home PrEP program built for exactly this: free lab work, discreet medication delivery, and zero out-of-pocket cost — with a real, local Charleston team behind it. You get the convenience of a national app with the trust of a provider who’s actually part of this community.
We also offer free, confidential HIV and STI testing across Charleston — no judgment, no long waits, just straightforward care.
Get Involved This September
You don’t have to run a clinic to take part in World Sexual Health Day. You can:
- Share accurate sexual health info with your circle
- Get tested — knowing your status is the first step to protecting yourself and your partners
- Ask about PrEP if you’re sexually active and want an extra layer of protection
Every Body deserves sexual health care that’s judgment-free, accessible, and local. That’s what we’re here for.
