Prevention

HIV and STI prevention is just the start

There are more tools than ever before to help with preventing HIV and STIs. Most individuals will be aware of the standard methods, like practicing safe sex, not sharing needles or abstinence. Medical advancements have also given us methods of prevention like pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP). Prevention does not stop just because an individual is HIV-positive. There are many actions you can take to help prevent transmitting it to others.
